Reencuentro con Inti Illimani en Toronto, Parte II

Because of the importance and story, to meet again with a group like Inti-Illmani is everything but easy. It is along way, besides not very often we can easy get their music and when faces change we understand that the new faces let us know that changes are to make the develop of the groups to walk straight to the future.
In this cold and further lands seen a first class artistical performance is not that common. So to me was quite an experience which took all of my resources to get full access. And being announcer of a radio program dedicated to Chile doing this is necesary and most of the times totally an adventure.
The cybernetic technology lately has been of big help to be able to show not just Chilean and Latin America audience but Canadians and listener general. To make it happen I am provided of a great database on which I have been advertising several shows and activities.
On the cold evening of November 16th at the Phoenix Concert Theatre, place for many kinds of performances, Inti-Illimani´s Show was what we call a dream come true which had growing along this last time many unknown senses. They took a while before starting the show but when they got on stage everybody was there got some kind of memorial shut, maybe some of them reminded the last Inti-illimani performed they have seen. The sound was excellent and somehow we were getting in a carnival where we were allowed to hear the memorably songs of the band. We heard songs by Violeta Parra, Víctor Jara y Patricio Manns, most of us heard the new voices too and I don´t know if is just me or they are very alike and they give color and material to the sound.
With this new air of enthusiasm and skill in performing they mix both old a new hits showing this constant move between memories and this endless artistic finding which was felt by most of the audience.
Certainly was Inti-Illimani playing there creating this warm and moving atmosphere, taking us to the memories that bring their story, to the visions of the beginning times, of the exile and to the return to the beloved homeland.
Time waiting to meet them and their musical baggage again totally worth it!! The whole performance shows where do they go, thinking of, maybe in a near future, to let their musical light so their legacy of memory can goes on leaving behind places, moments, disagreements, but no one would never forget Inti-Illimani´s legacy when is on stage even less would forget us. We keep in expectation of one o more artists are brought by the hazard of the muses.
They were ask the come back on stage two times by the tireless audience who wanted the moment to last forever and that speaks by it self. To express the real meaning of have seen again to Inti-Illimani it is hard and simple at the same time, you just have to stay quiet and hear, the music, words on it and everything left it is a perfect balance between they, happy doing their job, and us listeners, the easy part but hard to explain.
And to finish I would like to thanks to my journalist destination in giving me one of the most pleasant opportunities, of listening and sharing with the members of Inti Illimani the tour 2008, a memory I will keep in my files with a golden nail … … thank you for the music … .. friendship … and memory.
