Inti-Illimani en Valparaíso

Este párrafo pertenece a Xavier Pintanel, director del portal www.cancioneros.com, y forma parte de un artículo escrito el día de ayer con respecto a una reciente presentación de los ex integrantes de Inti-Illimani.

Damos inicio a este nuevo reportaje haciendo referencia a este párrafo por cuanto nos interpreta sobremanera. Inti-Illimani, el único Inti, el que no ha dejado de tocar en 42 años, representa justamente la amalgama del sonido de siempre junto a la evolución natural de las cosas, en este caso, de la música.

La formación actual de Inti-Illimani asegura un futuro que nos seguirá aportando la magia, poesía y la música del Inti, pero también la coherencia, la honestidad y el profesionalismo de un grupo que ha trascendido nuestras fronteras, no sólo geográficas, sino también humanas.

A continuación, el reportaje a los conciertos que Inti-Illimani ofreció en Valparaíso antes de su nueva gira internacional.

Inti en la Piedra Feliz

El lugar que nos convocó al reencuentro con nuestros queridos Intis fue un bello Pub de Valparaíso llamado La Piedra Feliz, recibe el nombre de un mítico lugar de Valparaíso ubicado hacia el sector de Las Torpederas. Era una roca enorme en el peñasquero, en el cual se cometieron innumerables suicidios en nombre del amor, ya que como bien dijo ayer Jorge “No hay enamorado que se respete, que no se haya suicidado”. Un bello lugar, con una bella historia para un bello encuentro.
Probablemente decir que lo vivído ayer fue una experiencia incomparable es, a estas alturas, casi un cliché pero alguien dijo que los clichés no existen, que cada experiencia es nueva y las sensaciones al traducirse a lenguaje dejan cortas a las palabras. De manera que vale decir que ayer se vivió una experiencia incomparable, con aire nuevo, con calidez, con calidad, con todas esas cosas que la música de Inti-Illimani es capaz de transmitir y no sólo con la música. Ellos logran hacerte sentir en el living de tu casa, sin divismos, siempre con una sonrisa gentil, siempre dispuestos a brindar un buen momento. Desde esa premisa puede parecer que nada hace falta y en realidad no, nada falta pero siempre puede ser mejor y así fue…
Al escuchar las bellas melodías de “Ramis”, “Huajra”, “Danza di Cala Luna” entendimos que esto era especial, que no era un encuentro habitual y que Inti-Illimani siempre puede ser siempre mejor, por increíble que parezca… Los cantos de “Negra Presuntuosa”, “El Corrido de la Soberbia”, “Papel de Plata” confirmaron el sentimiento, esa noche fue por sobretodo especial. El impecable sonido hizo de “Vino del Mar”, “Rondombe”, “El Guarapo y La Melcocha” nuevas a los oídos.
Inti-Illimani es una sorpresa constante, muy grata siempre por cierto, siempre hay novedad en ellos, siempre pueden generar la sensación de que esto sólo comienza, de que todo está por venir, es como una actitud de vida donde no se espera más que lo mejor y se transmite y se queda con nosotros esa sensación, es una muy recomendable terapia y sin duda toda una experiencia.
Inti-Illimani está más presente que nunca y dispuesto a seguir. Casi desafiando a los tiempos en los próximos meses cruzaran a otros continentes, los esperan recitales en Turquía, Borneo, también en Santiago por la segunda quincena de Julio y GRATIS!! Irán a EEUU (dónde cabe mencionar que a un mes de los conciertos las entradas están absolutamente agotadas). Así el Inti es un fenómeno constante, que trasciende, que supera, más allá de falsos argumentos, totalmente capaz de construir futuro y no tener que vivir del pasado. Inti-Illimani es sinónimo de creación.

We wanted to start this new article with this paragraph since it really interprets our believes. Inti-Illimani, the one and only Inti, the one that hasn't stop playing for 42 years, represents the mixture of the usual sound along with the natural evolution of things like, in this case, music.

Inti-Illimani’s current formation guarantees a future that will keep on contributing Inti's magic, poetry and music, besides the consistency, the integrity and professionalism of a band that has pervaded not only our geographic borders, but also our human ones.

Inti-Illimani at “La Piedra Feliz”

The place that called us to meet again with our beloved Intis was a very beautiful pub in Valparaíso called “La Piedra Feliz”. This pub is named after a mythical place in Valparaíso located near “Las Torpederas”. This beautiful place used to be a really big rock at the rocky outcrop where innumerable suicides were committed in the name of love, as Jorge Coulon wisely said yesterday: “There’s not such thing as a respectable lover who hasn’t committed suicide out of love”. An incredibly beautiful place with a beutiful story for a beautiful encounter.
It may be a cliché saying that the experience we lived yesterday was incomparable, but a wise persona once said that there's not such a thing as a cliché since every experience is a new one and words fall short to express feelings and sensations. This is why saying that yesterday we all lived an incomparable experience with a fresh air, warmth, quality, with everything that Inti is capable of transmiting, not only with the music, is worthwhile. They make us feel like we’re in our own living room, no prima donna attitude, with a kind smile always on their faces, always willing to give us a good moment. Starting from that premise, it may seems that nothing is ever missing, and that’s completely true, nothing is missing but it can be better… and it was…
By listening such beautiful songs as “Ramis”, “Huajra”, “Danza di Cala Luna" we understood that it was gonna be something special and it wasn't like a regular encounter. And Inti-Illimani, believe it or not, can always be better. Singing “Negra Presuntuosa”, “El Corrido de la Soberbia”, “Papel de Plata” confirmed the feeling that last night was an incredible and special night. The impeccable sound made that “Vino del mar”, “Rondombé” and “El Guarapo y la Melcocha” sounded as they were new to us.
Inti-Illimani is a constant surprise, a very pleasant one. There’s always something new about them, they always can make you feel likes this is only the beginning, that everything's gonna come; it's like an attitude for living where you don't hope anything less than the best thing and that sensation flows and stays with us. It is a recommended therapy and, undoubtedly, quite an experience.
Inti-Illimani is here more than ever before and willing to continue. Almost like defying these times, Inti-Illimani is gonna be traveling during the upcoming months to other continents. Concerts in Turkey, Borneo, Italy, Spain are waiting for them... and also a wonderful free concert in Santiago sometime in the second two weeks in July. They are going to USA (it’s necessary to say that all the tickets are sold out more than a month before those performances). This is how Inti-Illimani is a phenomenon in constant evolution; a phenomenon that goes beyond and beats false arguments and they’re absolutely capable of building future and they don’t need to live in and of the past. Inti-Illimani is just another word for creation.
